- Flowchart is a pictorial or graphical representation of a process.
- Each step is represented by a symbol and short description of the process step.
- Symbols are linked together by arrows called flowlines.
- Flowchart gives step-by-step solution of the given problem.
Characteristics of flowchart:
1. Only standard symbols should be used to draw flowchart.
2. The flowchart can be read from left to right and top to bottom.
3. There should be only one flowline coming out of the process symbol.
4. There should be only one flowline enter the decision symbol and only two flowlines coming out from the decision symbol.
5. There should be only one flowline either enter into the terminal symbol or coming out from the terminal symbol.
6. The flowchart should be neat, clean, and easy to understand.
